A real family home,
now open to guests

"My name is Yulia. We have moved to Carcavelos — but we couldn't let this house go. So we're keeping it, caring for it, and sharing it."

This isn't a managed rental. It's the house we lived in — school runs down the hill, dinners in the garden, winter storms watched from the kitchen window. Nothing has been stripped out or staged for guests. The books are still on the shelves and the art is still on the walls.

We come back now and then when the house is free, but guests always come first. If your dates are open, they're yours.

The house is large — 485m² of construction — with the kind of space that lets a family truly spread out. Two separate living rooms, a full kitchen with traditional azulejo tiles, and a terrace wide enough for long summer evenings.

Not a show home. Our books are on the shelves, our art is on the walls. But it's well cared-for, and everything works. In summer the doors stay open and the pool does the rest. In winter the fireplace is lit and the beach belongs to you.

All rates are a starting point for the whole property. Booked direct — no platform fees, and you deal with us rather than a call centre.

  • Minimum stay: 3 nights · 5 nights in June and September · 7 nights Saturday-to-Saturday in July and August
  • Final cleaning €150 per stay · refundable damage deposit €500, returned within five days
  • Municipal tourist tax €2 per guest per night, capped at three nights, collected on arrival
  • Well-behaved dogs are usually welcome — €75 cleaning supplement, just tell us about yours
  • Staying a month or more? Ask us. We would rather have one good long booking than chase weekends
Not available — Easter week, Christmas and New Year are the weeks we keep for ourselves. Everything else in the year is open.

Our own daughter is three, so the house is set up exactly the way young families need. Everything that matters is already here — you won't need to pack or hire a thing.

If your children are similar in age, you're welcome to use everything. Or we can put it all away before you arrive to give you a clean slate — just say the word.

A note from us

Not a hotel.
A real home.

We want to be straightforward. The house is lived-in and personal — our family's things are here, and our daughter's drawings might still be on the fridge. It's comfortable and properly cared-for, but it is a home rather than a serviced property.

Arrival and keys
We meet you at the house, hand over the keys and walk you through how everything works — the pool, the fireplace, the quirks of the kitchen. Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 11am, and we can usually flex either end if the calendar allows.

The house is looked after
The pool and garden are maintained every Wednesday morning by the same team who have looked after them for years. They work outside and need no access to the house — you'll barely notice them.

A few things we ask
No parties or events — this is a residential street and we would like to keep our neighbours. No smoking indoors. Quiet outside after 10pm. Children are very welcome, though the pool needs an adult present for under-12s. Dogs are usually a yes; just tell us about yours when you enquire. Open all year · except Easter, Christmas & New Year
Registered Alojamento Local — Casa da Vinda is a fully registered short-term rental property (AL 172007 · RNAL SM E-62361/2025) in compliance with Portuguese local accommodation law. Civil liability insurance is in place.
